The Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas II Project is primarily a volunteer project, and we are currently seeking volunteers for the 2008 field season and beyond. If you are an avid birder and are interested in becoming a field volunteer, please contact the Project Manager:

Alternatively, prospective volunteers can determine the Atlas Region where they'd like to conduct fieldwork using the Atlas II Regions link, then contact the appropriate Regional Coordinator.  We ask that each potential volunteer provide a brief summary of their birding experience at the time of inquiry.  Trainings for new volunteers may occur at various locations throughout Colorado.  Check out the Events link for information on upcoming Atlas trainings.

If you are interested in becoming involved with the project but have little or no birding experience, we would be pleased to connect you with an experienced Atlas volunteer, when available, for whom you could accompany into the field to learn bird identification skills and assist with collecting Atlas II data.
